According to a new Pew Research Center study:
If change in affiliation from one type of Protestantism to another is included, roughly 44% of adults have either switched religious affiliation, moved from being unaffiliated with any religion to being affiliated with a particular faith, or dropped any connection to a specific religious tradition altogether.
My initial response - welcome to post-evangelicalism, folks. Denominations don’t matter to a large number of evangelicals anymore. All sorts of other things - primarily music and programs for kids - have taken over. In another couple of years, the study will show probably another 44% change, or even higher, and once again denomination shifting will play a role.

Well, I’d be in that 44% if I were in the States. I’ve not switched denominations because (a) I was very settled at my Baptist church when I realised I’m no Baptist, and (b) I can’t find a decent Reformed congregation near me. I’m kind of glad the confessional Presbies haven’t set up shop in my city, because I’d be truly torn between where I am and where I’d love to go.

Philip, same situation, except that we moved, putting us an hour away from the Baptist church we loved, and thankfully one confessional Reformed presby church (of the PCA variety) was here in Rochester, so the decision was easy.
The only difference for me was that, when I realized I wasn’t a Baptist, I happened to be the pastor of a Baptist church at the time…
