I watched last night’s Democratic debate - all 1 hour and 45 minutes. And when Barack said, “We’ve entered the silly season of politics,” I declared it a win for Barack. That, to me, seemed like one of those moments that ends a debate, no matter what else is said, and ensures Barack will carry this win through the last bunch of states.
Clinton shot back quickly, however, with her “change you can Xerox” line, and despite the fact that she was booed for it, it’s been the most quoted line in the news. But there is amazing irony in this: her so-called powerful concluding statement of the debate just happens to be Xeroxed directly from John Edwards:

I have voted in 4 Presidential elections. 2x for the GOP candidate (1992 and 2000) and 2x for 3rd Party Candidates (1996 and 2004). Never for the Democratic candidate. This year will not be any different. I am leaning toward voting for McCain, I’m one of the few who seem to actually think he is the best man for the job (of either the GOP or Democratic candidates) and not just the lesser of two evils. If he turns out to be lying about having an affair, I’ll have to rethink that though. But there is no way that I will vote for Her Royal Highness or Mr. Hope/Mr. Change.
