You’ve probably noticed that this site has really taken a political turn lately, despite my constant assertions that I’ll be getting around to theological blogging again (c’mon, I quoted Tolkien on the Eucharist!). For those wanting theology, Fred’s posting on inerrancy tomorrow, and I’m linking two of my own posts from the Tavern in the Weekend Report.
But I think taking the political turn here during an election year is a good move, not least because more and varied Christian voices need to enter the political discussion if we’re ever going to break the stereotypes that have turned evangelicalism into the circus that it is. Not that I’ve been much more than a wandering star on a lot of issues…
Blogging will balance out after the primaries, when there are only the two candidates to discuss, but for now, I know it’s really dominating things. I thought I’d pass along the list of political blogs that I’m keeping up with on a regular basis, sort of as a “Recommended Reading” list. I don’t agree with everything said on these blogs. Some I barely ever agree with and only subscribe to for entertainment purposes. The labels aren’t strict, but they give you a basic sense of the blog’s material. Here you go:
- Reason: Hit & Run - Libertarian.
- Liberty and Power: Group Blog - Libertarian.
- Andrew Sullivan - Conservative. Christian. Gay. (How’s that for a combination?)
- De Regno Christi - Paleoconservative. Christian.
- Eunomia - Paleoconservative. Christian.
- Rod Dreher - “Crunchy Con.” Christian.
- Daily Dose - Ron Paul’s Campaign HQ blog.
- Obama HQ - Barack. Democrat.
- IMAO - Conservative. Republican.
- Whatever Jon sends me through Google Reader
Any recommendations?
