    Travis,

So…did you review Strawbridge’s book online…what did you think of it and was there anything really convincing about it? Would love to hear more.

Wow, reviewing Strawbridge must have totally slipped my mind. The short version is that while some of it was typical Reformed overcomplicating of the matter (way too many qualifying statements), it was overall a helpful and convincing book, particularly as it laid out the differences between the old and new covenants and why infant baptism flows naturally from the old to the new. It really (and I mean really) annihilates New Covenant Theology, the arguments of which I employed frequently as a credobaptist. Leithart’s essay was also helpful in demonstrated that, yes, it is possible for paedobaptist to have a balanced view of the historical practices of credo- and paedo-baptism in the early church.

In short, I’m a paedobaptist now, and Strawbridge played a role in that move. We’ll be joining a PCA church soon, and we’ll be having our daughter baptized.

    Travis,

You should break down the books read list into before Sophia, and after Sophia. I’m sure it would be enlightening =)

You can see the “after Sophia” books still on the books page, under “Currently Reading” =)
